Toyota 3RZ Timing Chain Kits

We now have a selection of 3RZ 2.7 liter timing chain kits for every build. All kits will come with timing cover gaskets and front oil seal.

The basic kit is OE Japan and is just the kit you need if you have removed the counter balance shafts or just want to take care of the timing chain and it components only. This kit will not come with any components that are used with the counter balance shafts
.
The standard kit will come with the needed components for the timing chain including upper camshaft sprocket, lower crankshaft sprocket, heavy duty timing chain, timing chain guides, heavy duty counter balancer chain, balancer Guides, and balancer chain tensioner. You will reuse the original counter balancer shaft sprockets.

The deluxe kit will come with all the timing chain components and the counter balance chain components as well as new gears for the counter balance chain. This is the kit you will need if you are wanting to replace all the timing chain and counter balance shaft components. This Kit Includes: Heavy Duty Timing Chain, Heavy Duty Counter Balancer Chain, Upper Camshaft Sprocket, Lower Crankshaft Sprocket, Cam Sprocket, Balance shaft Sprocket, Chain Guides, Chain Tensioners, Timing Cover Gaskets, and Front Seal.

5VZ Lightweight Crankshaft Pulley

 

A lightweight crankshaft pulley for the 5VZ-FE. You want to squeeze out every last bit of acceleration and horsepower from your engine. Here it is.

This lightweight crankshaft pulley is made in the USA.The pulley is the same size as stock so no belt changes needed. The stock crankshaft pulley on this engine weighs ten 10 pounds. Our end product weighs just 3 pounds. That means the stock pulley weighs 7 pounds more than ours. There are a few Internet sources that claim for every pound reduced in rotational mass of the crankshaft assembly, you gain 2.7 acceleration horsepower. If you want the last bit of power out of your 5vz, then this pulley may be for you! We recommend this pulley for performance applications only.

Fuel Injector Cup and O-ring for OEM Toyota 3VZ 3.0 liter fuel injectors. Located on the intake manifold this is what the fuel injector sits in. LCE suggests changing these when rebuilding or servicing the engine or the manifold assembly. LCE flow-matched fuel injectors include all new parts in the kit. Idle Air Compensator Valve O Ring

The idle air control valve in the Toyota is an important component in controlling the Toyota's idle speed. The valve, commonly referred to as the IAC valve, allows the correct amount of air to bypass the throttle plate in order to maintain the proper idle speed. The valve will become dirty over time and cause the Toyota to stall or idle roughly. Cleaning the IAC valve takes a few short steps and can be completed with minimal tools. It's important to keep the valve clean to ensure the efficiency of the Toyota. Once removed this O ring should be replaced to avoid any problems. This is also a common part to be replaced when installing A big bore throttle body. This is an original Toyota part.

Ever wonder if the fuel regulator is doing its job? Not sure if your getting the right fuel pressure at the fuel rail? The new fuel gauge kit is the answer to those questions. This kit will replace the banjo bolt on the cold start injector with a new stainless steel bolt that accepts a 1/8 NPT gauge that comes in this kit. Included in this kit is the copper crush washers, elbow to face gauge forward, and 0-100 PSI Silicone Filled for Vibration Dampening Gauge that is 1.5".

Why is testing the fuel pressure important?

You have to understand that an engine needs four basic elements to allow it to run. These are fuel, air, compression and an ignition source. If any one of these are missing or not operating fully, the engine will not run properly, or possibly not at all. As we are only interested in the fuel portion, we will discuss its importance. It is necessary that the fuel being delivered into the engine have correct pressure and volume. If the fuel lacks in either pressure or volume the vehicle may "starve", causing poor performance or possible internal engine damage. To ensure this does not happen, fuel pressure testing is performed.

When should the fuel pressure be checked?

The fuel pressure should be checked whenever a regular tune up is performed on the vehicle. Or if there is a problem in the running condition of the engine. If the fuel pressure is too low or too high it will be an indication that further diagnosis or repair is needed to fix the problem. Some indicators of a fuel related problem would be:

• Lack of power going uphill or when pulling a load
• Backfiring through the intake when accelerating
• Fuel mileage that is too good to be true
• Poor fuel economy

How is fuel pressure checked.

There are several ways in which to test fuel pressure, but before you get started you must first determine if the vehicle if carbureted or fuel injected. This will dictate which type of fuel pressure tester is appropriate. If the vehicle is carbureted, our Fuel Pressure Gauge Kit Carb Only is perfect for the job part number 1035056. It will allow you to test the pressure or output side of any fuel pump electric or mechanical. Most normal mechanical fuel pumps will range between 4-7 psi. This kit will allow you to "T" into the fuel line to monitor running pressure with a gauge that will go from 0 - 15 psi.

If the vehicle is electronic fuel injected, the NEW Fuel Injection Pressure Test Kit part number 2019128 would be the ideal tester. This kit will allow you to monitor the fuel rail pressure though the cold start injector banjo fitting. This is located on top of the intake manifold near the center of the throttle body runner. The fuel injection pressure kit will test pressure ranging from 0-60 psi.

What should the pressure be.

CARBURATOR: Fuel pressure is critical when you change from a stock carburetor to either a Weber or Holly carburetor.

Weber carburetors are very sensitive to fuel pressure. The needle and seat will not take more than 2.5 – 5 lbs of fuel pressure. If higher fuel pressure is attempted, the carburetor will flood.

Holly 350 & 500 cfm carburetors will work with a slightly higher fuel pressure. They will take 4 - 6lbs of fuel pressure before the needle and seat will not hold the pressure. They will also flood if excess pressure is applied.

EFI 22RE:
Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator and plug it, you should see 38 – 44 psi
Reconnect the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator. Measure the fuel pressure at idling you should see 33 – 38 psi.
Stop the engine. Check that the fuel pressure remains above 21 psi for 5 minutes after the engine is turned off.
If pressure is high, replace the fuel pressure regulator.
If pressure is low, check the following parts:
• Fuel hoses and connections
• Fuel pump
• Fuel filter
• Fuel pressure regulator

Warning: Do not work on fuel systems when the engine is hot or if there is a presence of smoke, sparks or open flame.
